SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, July 22, 2015 — “Still Standing” — To commemorate the one year anniversary of the Carlton Complex Fires, Seattle based singer songwriter Olivia De La Cruz releases the single, “Still Standing”. The single radiates a message of hope, inspired by the resilience of the Pateros and Methow Valley communities during a time of great loss.
The Carlton Complex Fires were the largest wildfires in Washington’s recorded history, burning over 250,000 acres and 300 homes. The community of Pateros, population of 650 and neighboring De La Cruz’s hometown of Lake Chelan, is home to De La Cruz’s aunt and uncle. De La Cruz’s family members coordinated to many families of the area, courageously battled the fires.
“Still Standing” features Tacoma native and The Voice finalist, Vicci Martinez. “Still Standing” was first performed live at a benefit concert hosted by De La Cruz, raising funds for those affected by the fires.
